DESCRIPTION

The Trap tile access door is designed for access to various engineering communications (meters, taps, technical niches, pipes, etc.) in the walls of premises for cases when the space for opening the access door is very limited and when the door needs to be completely removed to obtain maximum access. The advantage of the access door is the universality of installation in walls and a low price, comparable to its aluminum counterpart.

The access door is suitable for facing with ceramic tiles up to 10-12 mm thick, ceramic granite up to 10 mm thick, mosaic, HPL panels up to 10 mm thick, and similar or lighter materials. The thickness of the facing material together with the glue should not exceed 15 mm.

The frame of the Trap access door is made of a 20x30x2 mm steel profile, the door frame is made of a 15x15x2 mm profile, on which KNAUF gypsum fiber supersheet (GVL) 10 mm thick is fixed. Trap profiles are mainly made of hot-rolled black steel. The steel undergoes phosphate treatment and is covered with polyester powder paint to ensure anti-corrosion. Welds are made by the MIG method according to the international standard DIN EN ISO 5817. The frame with the door has a removable connection with the help of pins on the frame, staples on the door and a pair of guide rollers with responders. The access door is opened by pressing with HEFELE Mini-Latch locks. After pressing, the upper part of the access door opens by 30°, while the lower part is held on the door brackets, which are strung on the pin of the access door frame. The rollers set the necessary trajectory of the door movement when opening and also fix the lower part of the access door in the closed position. After opening the access door, you can remove it by pulling it out with your hands, releasing the door brackets from the frame pins. For additional security, the door is connected to the frame by a removable steel cable. On the inside of the door frame, there are one or two pairs (depending on the dimensions of the access door) of guide rings to help the door enter the frame in the desired position.

The total depth of the structure is 42 mm, plus the 23 mm of protruding locks = 65 mm.

The minimum dimensions of the structure with one door are 200x200 mm (it is possible to make 150x150 mm in a special configuration without brackets), the maximum ones are 1000 W x 500 H mm and 300 W x 1500 H mm. For larger dimensions, a design with two doors is used.

Access door adjustment mechanisms are not provided for this model.

SIZE SELECTION

To correctly select the size of the inspection tile access door, you need to know the exact size of the tile and the size of the niche (mounting opening). We recommend ordering an access door of the same size as one or more tile fragments or slightly smaller.

Important!!! It is not allowed to allow the tile protrude beyond the overall dimensions of the access door.

To select the size of the access door for the mosaic, it is necessary to measure the dimensions of one fragment and add the thickness of the seam, after that calculate how many fragments will fit on the area of the mounting opening/niche, taking into account the thickness of the seams.

The access door opens only from top to bottom and can then be removed. The depth of the mounting opening/niche for installing the access door must be at least 65 mm in the area of the access door locks (upper part) and at least 42 mm in the area of the access door frame.

Important!!! Please note that the clear opening after installing the access door will be smaller than the overall dimensions of the access door due to the location of the locks and the thickness of the profile. For a version with one door, the space is 40 mm less horizontally, 40 mm vertically, and 54 mm in the area of the lock protrusion. It is also necessary to take into account the pins placed in the lower part of the access door frame, which have a height of 60 mm.

ASSEMBLING

Access doors may be installed in the niches of vertical walls and partitions made of brick, concrete or sheet materials such as drywall.

Trap access doors must be installed only in a way that the disconnecting hinge is placed at the bottom.

Important!!! The standard version of an access door does not include fastening elements or holes.

Preparation of the opening

If the access door is to be installed in a drywall wall, we recommend installing a CD profile frame around the perimeter of the opening, or a black steel pipe for large sizes. There is no need to install an additional profile on the sides where there is a concrete or brick wall. The access door must be fixed on four sides.

Fixing the access door in the opening

Install the access door frame into the mounting opening/niche flush with the wall surface. Fasten it with self-tapping screws or self-tapping screws with dowels. Additionally, fix the access door frame with wooden nails. Install the access door and make sure that it is installed without distortion of the frame and in one plane with the surface of the wall. To increase tightness, fill the holes between the access door frame and the wall with mounting foam.

Facing

Apply facing material to the gypsum fiber of the access door according to the instructions for use. The access door can be faced both before and after the finishing of the walls.

Storage and operation conditions

  1. The Product can only be stored and transported in a vertical position, with the longer side facing the floor;
  2. The Product must be stored exclusively indoors or outdoors under covering at temperature from -20 to +70 degrees Celsius, relative humidity not more than 80%;
  3. It is forbidden to store the Product near open heat sources closer than 2 meters;
  4. Direct ingress of water on the access door is prohibited.

Warning.

Do not open the access door if Mini-Latch locks did not work when pressed, as this may damage the plastic latches. We recommend when opening, to press the access door in the middle between the locks, so that all the locks are activated at the same time.

Do not leave children unattended when the access door is open, as it is a heavy construction with sharp metallic protrusions, so carelessness in its handling can lead to serious injuries and bodily harm. Be cautious!
