The special SLIDE hidden installation access door is designed to provide access in places where there is no space for a full front opening of the door. For this purpose, the access door is equipped with a special two-joint hinge, thanks to which the access door moves to the side parallel to the wall and does not require space for opening. The SLIDE access door is used for access to various engineering communications (meters, taps, technical niches, pipes, etc.) in the walls of premises and outdoors (under the covering). It is suitable for cladding with light materials such as ceramic tiles up to 10 mm thick, ceramic granite up to 6 mm thick, mosaic, HPL panels up to 20 mm thick, and other materials similar in weight.
The access door consists of a 20x40x1.2 mm steel profile frame and a door with a 20x20x1.2 mm profile frame, on which a 10 mm thick KNAUF gypsum-fiber supersheet (GVL) is fixed. Profiles for hidden SLIDE access doors are mainly made of electrowelded carbon cold-rolled black steel, which undergoes phosphate treatment and is covered with polyester powder paint, which ensures its anti-corrosion. Welds are made by the MIG method according to the international standard DIN EN ISO 5817.
The access door is opened by pressing with HEFELE Mini-Latch locks, after which the door moves to the side, parallel to the wall, to its full width. The peculiarity of opening the door is ensured by the double-hinged Triple DoorHolder hinge. Only 120 mm of free space between the access door and the obstacle in front of the access door is sufficient for opening.
The total depth of the structure is 55 mm plus 15 mm of a protruding lock = 70 mm.
For all sizes of this model, an Up/Down loop adjustment mechanism is provided from -3 to +3 mm.
The minimum dimensions of the structure with one door are 300x300 mm, the maximum ones are 650 Wx1100H mm. For larger dimensions, a design with two doors is used, the maximum size for the horizontal placement of the door is 1200 W x1100H mm (two doors of 600 x550H mm without a jumper in the middle), for the vertical placement of the door - 650 Wx2000H mm (two doors of 650 W x1000H mm without a jumper in the middle).
To correctly select the size of the tile inspection access door, you need to measure the exact size of the tile and the size of the niche (mounting opening). We recommend ordering the access door of the same size as one or more tile sections or smaller.
Important!!! It is allowed to protrude the tile beyond the dimensions of the access door frame on the hinge fastening side by a maximum of 20 mm and 50 mm on all other sides.
To select the size of the access door to line it with mosaic, it is necessary to measure the dimensions of one fragment and add the thickness of the seam; after that, calculate how many fragments will fit in the area of the mounting opening/niche, taking into account the thickness of the seams.
Important!!! Be sure to inform the manager before ordering that the access door will be lined with mosaic.
The access door entrance opens from left to right or from right to left only. The depth of the mounting opening/niche for installing the access door must be at least 70 mm in the area where the access door locks are placed.
Important!!! Please note that the useful/light/free space after installing the access door will be smaller than the overall size of the access door due to the location of the hinges and the thickness of the profile. For a design with one entrance, horizontally the space is smaller by 90 mm + 20 mm lock protrusion = 110 mm, vertically - by 40 mm.
Access doors can be installed in the niches of vertical walls and partitions made of brick, concrete or sheet materials such as plasterboard.
Important!!! The standard version does not include fastening elements or openings.
Preparation of the opening.
If the access door is installed in a plasterboard wall, we recommend installing a CD profile frame around the perimeter of the opening, or a black steel pipe for large sizes. There is no need to install an additional profile on the sides in a concrete or brick wall. The access door must be secured on four sides.
Fixing the access door in the opening.
Install the access door in the mounting opening/niche in one plane with the wall surface. Secure the access door with self-tapping screws or self-tapping screws with dowels. Additionally, fix the access door frame with wooden wedges. Make sure that the access door is installed without distortion of the frame and in one plane with the surface of the wall. To increase tightness, fill the holes between the frame of the access door and the wall with mounting foam.
Facing.
Apply facing material to the gypsum fiber of the access door entrance according to the instructions for use. The access door can be faced both before and after the finishing of the walls.
Adjustment of the entrance.
It is possible to lower or raise the entrance in range from +3 mm to -3 mm. To do this, use a wrench to turn the nuts on the hinge adjustment mechanism up or down.
Storage and operation conditions.
Warning.
Please note that to make it possible to press the access door entrance, there should be a space of 4 mm deep under the edges of the tiles that protrude beyond the dimensions of the access door.
It is forbidden to open the access door entrance if all the Mini-Latch locks did not work when pressed: this may damage plastic latches. Therefore, we recommend to press the access door entrance in the middle when opening, so that the locks work from all sides.
Do not leave children unsupervised when the access door is open, as it is a heavy structure with sharp metal protrusions, so carelessness in its handling can lead to serious injury and bodily harm. Be cautious!
