Pegas aluminum panel is specially designed for installation in plasterboard walls and facing with ceramic tiles. The Pegas panel opens with a push from above, and then its entrances simply slide out, freeing up space for panel. The panel is suitable for any interior, because after facing with tiles and closing it is practically invisible. In most cases, Pegas is used for small-scale access to various engineering communications. It is also effective when there is no space to fully open the panel entrance with a side hinge.
Pegas tile panel is used to create hidden access to various engineering communications (meters, taps, built-in electrical panels, technical niches or ventilation). The panel is attached exclusively to plate materials with the help of special protrusions along the contour.
Pegas aluminum hidden panel is suitable for cladding with ceramic tiles up to 10 mm thick, ceramic granite up to 8 mm, mosaic, HPL panels up to 10 mm thick, and similar or lighter materials.
Important!!! The thickness of the facing material with glue should not exceed 12 mm.
Pegas panel is made of specially extruded ribbed aluminum corners that protect the panel from deformation. The panel is designed for small sizes up to 600x600 mm, but this creates an ideal ratio of price and functionality. The panel consists of an aluminum 25x15x2 mm corner frame. The inner area of the corner is turned to the front side of the panel, and its 25 mm edge acts as a wing for fastening to plasterboard. The entrance is made of the same 25x15x2 mm aluminum corner, on which moisture-resistant 12.5 mm drywall is fixed. The frame with the entrance has a removable connection with brackets from below, which are fixed from above using the PUSH system (HEFELE Mini-Latch lock system). After opening, the entrance can be completely removed. The panel is opened by pressing, after which the entrance lowers into the frame by 4 mm from the side of the locks and opens as far as the length of the safety cable allows. To fully remove the entrance, the safety cable must be disconnected. After closing the panel, the gap between the tile on the entrance and the bordering wall should be at least 2 mm.
All panel seams are connected by argon arc welding and additionally covered with anti-corrosion silver paint, which makes them reliable and invisible. Self- tapping screws for fastening locks and drywall have plastic caps that prevent injuries when working with the panel.
The minimum size of the structure with one entrance is 200x200 mm, the maximum one is 600x600 mm. Larger dimensions of the panel are not provided. If you need a larger panel, consider another model.
The total depth of the structure in the closed state is 15 mm, near the protrusion of the locks + 40 mm = 55 mm.
To correctly select the size of the Pegas tile inspection panel, you need to know the exact size of the tile and the size of the niche (mounting opening). If the niche is ready, it is necessary to measure the size of the niche (mounting opening) and subtract 5 mm from its width and height; the obtained results will be the dimensions of the panel (without fastening wings). If the niche is not formed, we recommend ordering a panel of the same size as one or more tile fragments, or smaller by 1-20% on all sides except the lower side of the panel (the side of the brackets). Then, in accordance with the overall dimensions of the panel (without fastening wings), form a niche 5 mm larger than the dimensions of the panel in width and height.
The depth of the opening for installing the panel should be at least 15 mm, and in the area of the protrusion of the locks - 55 mm.
Important!!! Please note that the useful/light/free space of the panel is smaller than its overall size. In width L (side of the brackets), the space is smaller by 4 mm, due to the thickness of the frame profile on both sides. Additionally, it is necessary to take into account the thickness of the locks of 24 mm on the opposite side of the hinge (12 mm on each side). At height H, the free space is 15 mm smaller, due to the thickness of the profile on both sides and the bracket protrusion in the lower part of the panel (11 mm).
Pegas panel can be installed vertically only in the openings in plasterboard walls or other plate materials 12.5 mm thick.
Important!!! The standard version does not include fastening elements or openings.
Preparation of the opening
Cut the opening in plasterboard of 5 mm in width and in length larger than the overall size of the panel.
Fixation of the panel in the opening
Detach the panel entrance from the frame. Install the panel frame in the prepared opening flush with the plasterboard, which is ready for finishing. To do this, you need to insert the frame of the panel diagonally into the opening, turn it so that the frame is clearly inserted in this opening, and the fastening wings are attached to the plasterboard in the middle of the opening. Next, fasten aluminum profile wings of the panel to plasterboard using self-tapping screws from the outside of the opening. Make sure that the frame of the panel is installed without distortions and in one plane with the surface of the wall. To increase hermeticity, fill the holes between the frame of the panel and the wall with mounting foam. Connect the entrance to the frame using the detachable hinge elements and close the entrance by pressing.
Facing
Apply the facing material to the panel entrance according to the instructions for use. The panel must be faced before the finishing facing of the wall in which the panel is installed. Connect the entrance to the frame using the detachable hinge elements and close the entrance by pressing. Next, stick the tile on the entrance. The layer of glue should be at least 2 mm.
Important!!! It is allowed for tiles to protrude beyond the dimensions of the panel entrance from the sides and from the top by no more than 20% of the size of the tiles. On the lower side of the panel (side of the hinge), the protrusion of the tile is not allowed beyond the edges of the panel entrance.
Important!!! Tiles or other hard materials with a thickness of up to 12 mm together with glue are allowed for lining the Pegas panel. We recommend using polymer glue suitable for the material that will be used to cover the panel.
Important!!! Before closing the panel, check that there are no foreign objects on the panel frame.
