DESCRIPTION

Long Gate is the world's most powerful industrial hidden wall tile access door. It is designed both for long and high dimensions, as well as for cladding primarily with very heavy materials, such as granite slabs, marble, onyx etc. It is no longer necessary to cut a large-format facing tile into two parts for ordinary access doors, simply order a Long Gate access door of the required size with a single door.

Long Gate is intended for hidden access to various engineering communications (meters, taps, technical niches, pipes, etc.) in the walls of premises and outdoors (under the covering). It is suitable for facing with ceramic tiles, ceramic granite, granite, marble, natural stone, mosaic, HPL panels, and similar materials with a thickness of no more than 20 mm. Long Gate is most often used in common areas of residential buildings, business and shopping centers, airports, hotels and can be equipped with additional locks for access control.

The frame of the access door consists of a 25x50x2 mm steel profile and a door made of a 20x20x1.5mm steel profile, on which a KNAUF gypsum fiber supersheet 10 mm thick is fixed for gluing facing plates. The frame and the door are connected to each other by means of a powerful TOR hinge. This hinge has a rectangular frame made of a 25x50x2 mm steel profile, which is attached with the help of adjustable hinges to the access door frame on one side (to the upper and lower profile of the frame), and to the center of the door on the other side (along the door gravity vector). In this way, the load on the hinge is as minimal as possible, and the weight of the facing material on the door is distributed evenly, so distortions and subsidence are excluded while maintaining permissible loads. An Up/Down hinge adjustment mechanism is provided at the hinge attachment point.

Profiles for the Long Gate hidden access doors are used exclusively from electrowelded carbon cold-rolled black steel, which undergoes phosphate treatment and is covered with polyester powder paint to ensure anti-corrosion. Welds are made by the MIG method according to the international standard DIN EN ISO 5817.

Long Gate opens by pressing with the help of HEFELE Quick locks on the door and roller catches on the frame. The door opens first in the frontal direction, and then to the side; the opening angle depends on the thickness of the facing material around the access door. The frontal opening protects the facing material from chipping off.

The minimum possible dimensions of the structure with one door are 600Lx400H, the maximum ones are 1200Lx1800H. For larger dimensions, a design with two doors is used, the maximum size when placed horizontally is 2000Lx2000H. It is also possible to manufacture doors with larger dimensions after considering all the specifics of the access door placement, operating conditions and facing material.

The total depth of the structure in the closed state is 62 mm + 18 mm of protruding locks = 80 mm.

SIZE SELECTION

To correctly determine/select the size of the tile access door, it is necessary to know the exact size of the tiles and the size of the opening (mounting hole). VHID recommends ordering an access door of the same size as one or more tile pieces.

Important!!! It is not recommended that the tiles protrude beyond the dimensions of the access door; this case is acceptable only in case of exceptional necessity.

The maximum allowable protrusion of the tiles beyond the dimensions of the access door: 20 mm on the opposite side to the hinge, 50 mm on the other three sides.

To select the size of the access door for mosaic, it is necessary to measure the dimensions of one fragment and add the thickness of the seam, after that calculate how many fragments will fit on the area of the mounting opening/niche, taking into account the thickness of the seams.

Important!!! Be sure to inform the manager before ordering that the access door will be lined with mosaic.

The access door opens only from left to right or from right to left. The depth of the mounting opening/niche for installing the access door must be at least 62 mm, in the area of the protrusion of the locks - 80 mm.

Important!!! The clear/free opening of the access door is smaller than the overall dimensions (due to the placement of hinges, locks and profile thickness). For a single door design, it is 110 mm smaller horizontally (85 mm of a hinge part with a frame and 25 mm of a frame profile on the opposite side). In addition, if necessary, it should be taken into account that from the opposite side of the hinge, the rollers of the locks protrude even 40 mm more into the middle of the clear opening. Vertically, the free opening is smaller by 50 mm.

ASSEMBLING

Access doors can be installed in the openings of vertical walls and partitions made of brick, concrete or sheet materials such as drywall.

Important!!! In the standard configuration, access doors do not contain fastening elements or holes;

Preparation of the opening

If the access door is to be installed in drywall, we recommend installing a CD profile frame around the perimeter of the opening, or a black steel pipe for large dimensions. It is not necessary to install an additional profile on the sides where there is a concrete or brick wall. The access door must be fixed on four sides.

Fixation of the access door in the opening

Install the access door in the mounting opening/niche flush with the wall surface. Fasten the access door with self-tapping screws or self-tapping screws with dowels through the holes in the access door frame. Additionally, fix the access door frame with wooden nails. Make sure that the access door is installed without distortion of the frame and in one plane with the surface of the wall. To increase tightness, fill the holes between the frame of the access door and the wall with mounting foam.

Facing

Apply facing material to the drywall of the access door according to the instructions for use. The access door can be faced both before and after the finishing of the walls.

Important!!! Before closing the access door, check that there are no foreign objects on the access door frame.

The fastening strength of facing materials should exclude their separation or damage when opening the access door. When operating the access door, water/dirt must be avoided in the access door hinges to avoid jamming or corrosion. In case of deterioration of the access door opening properties, it is allowed to lubricate these elements with lubricants.

Placement of the Long Gate access door near the inner corners of the walls

If the access door is placed close to the inner corners of the walls, it is necessary to follow the rules of indentation from these corners. When placing the hinged side of the access door on the side of the corner, the minimum distance from the tile glued on the access door to the corner should be 10 mm or more. If the opposite side of the access door hinge is located near the corner, the minimum distance from the tile glued on the access door to the corner should be 3 mm or more.

Door adjustment

The access door can be lowered or raised in the range from +3 mm to -3 mm. For this, use a wrench to turn the nut on the hinge adjustment mechanism up or down.

Storage and operation conditions

  1. The Product can only be stored and transported in a vertical position, with the longer side facing the floor;
  2. When transporting access doors in cars with an open body, the Supplier is not responsible for the preservation of the Product;
  3. When transporting a package with access doors, it must be fixed on the vehicle to prevent displacement during transportation, and measures must be taken to prevent damage to the access doors by hard objects. It is not allowed to drop the access doors.
  4. The Product can be stored and operated exclusively indoors or outdoors under cover at temperatures from -20 to +70 degrees Celsius, with relative humidity no more than 80%;
  5. It is forbidden to store the Product near open heat sources closer than 2 meters;
  6. Direct ingress of water on the access door is prohibited.

Warnings

Please note that there should be a space of 4 mm deep under the edges of the tiles that protrude beyond the dimensions of the access door, to make it possible to press on the door.

It is forbidden to open the access door if all the Mini-Latch locks did not work when pressed, this may damage the plastic latches. Therefore, we recommend when opening, to press on the door in the middle, so that the locks work from all sides.

Do not leave children unattended when the access door is open, as it is a heavy construction with sharp metallic protrusions, so carelessness in its handling can lead to serious injuries and bodily harm. Be cautious!

Important!!! When closing the access door, make sure that no children, domestic animals, birds or other living creatures are trapped between the frame and the door. They can be injured or killed when the door is being closed.
