Description

This special access door model will help to organize hidden and convenient access in walls or ceilings made of double plasterboard. Two sheets are usually needed for greater strength of the blocks. Also, the Toruc access door is ideal for fastening to a frame made of a steel profile, which is used for fastening drywall sheets. It is easy to install the access door in a brick or concrete niche in the walls.

Next, just apply putty and paint the access door, and your wall design will not be affected. Meanwhile, you will get convenient and almost imperceptible access to various engineering communications (switchboards, meters, taps, pipes, etc.) in the walls and ceilings.

The access door is made of a specially extruded aluminum profile. The structure of the access door is designed for sizes with one door up to 600Wx1200H or with two doors of 1200Wx1200H mm. The Toruc access door is suitable for applying paint, decorative plaster, wallpaper, natural and decorative leather, fabrics and similar materials.

The Toruc access door consists of an aluminum 40x20x2 mm T-frame. The middle ledge of the frame acts as a doorway for the door, and locks are attached to it. Holes for fixing the access door are made along the contour of the inner part of the frame.

The door is made of an aluminum 30x15x2 mm angle, on which moisture-resistant 12.5 mm thick plasterboard is fixed. The frame with the door on one side is fixed with special screws that ensure the axial rotation of the door, on the other side it is fixed with the PUSH system of Mini-Latch HEFELE locks. The access door is opened by pressing, after which the door lowers deep into the frame by 4 mm from the side of the locks and opens at 110°. After closing the access door, the gap between the frame and the door is 1.5 mm. Special bulges in the frame prevent the door from sagging and changing the size of the gaps. The angle of the frame and the door does not have a thinning near the front part of the access door, so its thickness of 2 mm may remain visible after installation.

Detachable steel cables connecting the frame to the door are installed on the Toruc access door for painting. All access doors seams are connected by argon arc welding and additionally covered with anti-corrosion silver paint, which makes them reliable and invisible. Protruding self-tapping screws for fastening locks have plastic caps that prevent injuries when working with the access door.

The minimum design dimensions with one door are 200x200 mm, the maximum ones are 600Wx1200H mm, and the dimensions with two doors are 1200Wx1200H mm without a lintel in the middle. Larger dimensions of the access door are not provided. If a larger access door is required, we recommend the Incognita model.

The total depth of the structure in the closed state is 40 mm + the protrusion of the locks 10 mm = 50 mm.

Size selection

To select the size of the Toruc access door, it is necessary to measure the size of the niche in plasterboard (mounting opening) and subtract 5 mm from the width and height. The obtained results will be the dimensions of the access door.

The access door can be turned so that the loop is located on the right side. Therefore, when ordering the access door, you only need to determine the width W and the height of the access door H (for access doors in the ceiling, this is the side of the hinge L). If you chose a top-down opening for the wall, the access door hinge H (height) will be horizontal. The depth of the opening for installing the access door should be at least 40 mm, and in the area of the protrusion of the locks - 50 mm.

Important!!! Please note that the clear/free opening of the access door is smaller than the overall dimensions. In width W (perpendicular sides to the hinge), the space is 40 mm less due to the profile of the frame. At height H (side of the hinge and the opposite side), the clear opening is also smaller by 40 mm due to the profile of the frame on both sides, and it is also necessary to take into account the thickness of the locks of 24 mm on the opposite side of the hinge (12 mm from the top and bottom).

Assembling

The Toruc access door can only be installed in openings in walls or ceilings made of plasterboard or other board materials. The access door needs a frame made of a steel profile or solid blocks made of brick or concrete for fastening.

Preparation of the opening

If the installation is to be done in a wall or ceiling made of plasterboard, install a CD profile frame along the perimeter of the opening in drywall. Additionally, fasten the frame to a concrete or brick wall or ceiling. You should have the opening 5 mm in width and length larger than the overall dimensions of the access door. If the access door is installed in the opening in the wall made of concrete or brick, the CD profile frame should be installed only where there is nothing to attach the access door frame to.

Fixation of the access door in the opening

Install the access door in the prepared opening at the level of drywall or walls prepared for finishing. Fasten the access door aluminum profile frame to the steel frame, concrete or brick with self-tapping screws. Make sure that the access door is installed without distortion of the frame and in one plane with the surface of the wall.

Facing

When the access door is fixed, you can start applying the putty. In order to prevent cracking and shedding of the putty from the access door door, we recommend to follow the following cladding technology:

1) Apply the elastic polymer putty, 3 mm thick, to the access door’s door. It must be dry, follow the putty manufacturer's drying recommendations. It may take several days. During this period, it is forbidden to apply any additional materials to the putty.

2) Apply super light, non-shrinking putty, 1 mm thick, to the completely dry elastic putty. After 2-3 hours, perform finishing cladding in accordance with construction standards.

Use a mounting grid and flexible polymer putty to cover the joint between the access door frame and drywall to create protection against cracks.

Important!!!

Do not stick the glass screen on the access door’s door.

Storage conditions

  1. The Product can be stored and transported in a horizontal and vertical position (with the longer side facing the floor) without stressing the locks;
  2. The Product must be stored exclusively indoors at a temperature from +10 to +50 degrees Celsius, relative humidity no more than 70%;
  3. It is forbidden to store the Product near open heat sources closer than 2 meters;
  4. Direct ingress of water on the access door is prohibited.

Important!!!

  • The access doors are installed before finishing cladding;
  • During installation, it is important not to allow the frame to skew, the corners of the access door frame should be 90 degrees. Also, the access door must be flush with the plane of the wall;
  • Do not leave children unattended when the access door is open, as it is a heavy construction with sharp metallic protrusions, so carelessness in its handling can lead to serious injuries and bodily harm. Be cautious!
